Tzununa

Tzununa is the new area of devolpment around lake Atitlan. This little village located above the hill is 30 minutes walk from San Marcos La Laguna, a dirt road connects the two of them. A road is planned to be built between Tzununa and San Jose Chacaya. Right now the access by car to this village is through the Pan-American Highway CA1 at the km 148. This area of the lake offers great views of the volcanoes Atitlan, Toliman and San Pedro. The waterfront is inhabited by foreigners in part but still has plenty of vacant lots to be built on. Nearby, the Hotel Restaurant Lomas de Tzununa offers a full restaurant and pool. It is one of the few places around the lake where you can still find houses under $100,000.
